Tolstoy guides us through his battles with logic and faith. I have not read a book this heavy in philosophically theological material for quite a while, and I enjoyed the change of pace. It is not hard to relate to Tolstoy's struggles, and he writes his confession in such a way that readers get to wrestle through these complexities as well. It is definitely worth the read!

I wish good reads offered half star ratings because I would give it 4.5 stars. This book was definitely thought provoking. I often had to take breaks because of how bleak it was. A Confession is sincere and earnest, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have read it

Slightly depressing but it touches the core of our soul. Definitely a wake up call for us to confront the lies around us and question the reason of our existence.

I'm almost speechless after reading this it was so profound. This is definitely the book to read if you are in a midlife existential crisis and/or on the brink of suicide.
