I would have given it 5 stars but I'm petty and saw the ending going differently. I would highly recommend reading this book. It was my first by this author and I will be looking at what else she has written to see what else I enjoyed.

Let the record state that I finished this book over 12 hours ago and had to mentally get myself together just to discuss how interesting this book was.
What in the hell kind of book boyfriend is this?? In all the dark romances I’ve read, there’s an unspoken rule that the psychotic, morally grey MMC doesn’t harm women or children. So it should’ve been a massive red flag that Reid gets off on killing women. Seriously, who green-lit that?
This isn’t marketed as a RH, although you get to see Kyah have sex with all but one of the men who are interested in her. Oh, and you also see their POVs in the book too, just in case you needed a refresher on how identical they all are in their caveman-ish “yOu BeLoNg tO mE kYaH” attitudes. Honestly, it got to the point where I just stopped paying attention to whose POV we were in because they all acted the exact same.
Also, Kyah was supposed to be this badass tattoo artist who can fend for herself, but she quite literally COULDN’T. The most she did was go on dates with each MMC and then have sex with them, and once she felt herself growing attached to them, the author found a way to make the guy a dick in order to justify her being attracted by a woman killer…Sure.
Oh, and did anyone else catch the bizarre number of McDonald’s references? I swear there were like five of them. It’s as if the characters needed a side of fries to go with their drama. I get it, everyone loves a good Big Mac, but this was a bit much.
All in all, the plot was wack, but the smut was there, so that counts for something. If you’re in it just for the spice, you’ll be satisfied. But if you’re looking for a coherent plot and distinct characters, you might want to look elsewhere.

The only redeemable character was Big Jim, who is hardly mentioned. Every character annoyed me, so I continued reading in the hope of more Reid murder chapters—there were only two or three.
