"Hell, what's life without psychological mind games and kinky fuckery?"
What the HELL did I just read? And WHY did I enjoy it so much?! I knew I was getting into a stalker romance before even starting this book, but I wasn't expecting the stalker to ALWAYS kill his victims and that to be his focus from the start with each of his girls. Of course our FMC, Kyah, is different, and Reid wants to keep her alive.
"I want to know you, Kyah. I want to know what gets under your skin. I want to know what makes you smile. But most of all, I can't stop wondering about the way you'd taste on my tongue...Plus, the second I saw these full lips, I knew I needed to see what they looked like wrapped around my cock."
Kyah, not only has changed the mind and pattern of a stalker/serial killer, but every damn bad boy in this book has his sights set on her and has fallen for her. I mean, she is pretty and badass and covered in tatts and an incredible tattoo artist and a snarky, sarcastic queen, so I get it. There were times she annoyed me because she would kind of flip on what she wanted. She wasn't consistent, so I, as the reader, didn't really know what she wanted. She would talk about how she wasn't a slut, but didn't want to commit and wanted to keep sleeping with multiple men at the same time. She hated how possessive one of the guys was but then wanted that dominance and possessiveness in the next guy. I still really liked her, but these things did bug me a bit.
"You're telling me that you didn't tell your best friend how your body shudders every time I touch you or how you whimper and your knees go weak when I pin you against the wall with a burning need pulsing through your body, so fucking desperate for more?"
First, we have Crew who has been her best friend and coworker ever since she started, but he has a dark side that he has mostly kept hidden from her, though his possessiveness over her is one reason she has stayed away this whole time. Next is the VP of The Reapers MC, Viper, who has wanted her as his old lady from the moment he met her when she was 17. He is protective of her and constantly fighting with Crew about her. Then we have Kyah's new neighbor across the hall, Alex, who is insanely attractive and funny, and they immediately have a connection with each other from the moment they first lock eyes. Finally, we have Kyah's stalker, Reid, who we know nothing about besides that he gets off on stalking, fucking, and then killing the women for the biggest *release* of all. The big mystery is WHO Reid really is. Is he one of her men, or is he someone else entirely who is not involved in her day-to-day life?
"It's the most thrilling game I've ever played, and I don't want it to end."
Reid not only stalks our girl, Kyah, but he also scales her fire escape at night, breaks in through her living room window without setting off her security system (because he has hacked it), watches her while she sleeps, showers, changes, and masturbates. BUT we find out later that he does all of this above and beyond what he needed to, all to see how she reacts to the fear...which turns her on, which is the reason he changes his mind about her in the first place. Things really start to ramp up when Reid starts killing people off for hurting or threatening Kyah and Alex and Kyah really start to fall for each other. While all of this is going on, Kyah has become aware of her stalker creeping on her at night and they start doing *things* without her discovering his identity.
"What kind of self-respecting woman allows her stalker to sneak into her room and eat her pussy in the middle of the night?"
"...don't I owe it to myself to find out who the hell had their fingers buried deep inside my cunt last night?"
This book was twisty and dark and intriguing, but it also had me feeling like I was having a crisis of conscience because I shouldn't be rooting for the stalker...

This book was okay! It didn’t blow me away, but it also didn’t bore me to bits.
The one thing that drove me the most crazy was the authors excessive use of starting sentences with “Hell,” it became a bit of a running joke to me so I highlighted and noted every time it was done…
At 6% I wrote
“If I took a shot every time the author does this, I’d need a hospital and I’m only 6% in.”
I highlighted 69 times after that, so, somewhere in the 70s. It may not seem like a lot, but boy is it overwhelming when you’re reading it 😅
The themes are dark and fairly cliche, but it was a read nonetheless.

I can’t get behind a serial killer who’s killing innocent women (or at least I think they’re innocent). I prefer my serial killer/stalker MMCs to kill bad people. Also, I know the FMC is young and wants to be wild and free, but who is okay with a complete stranger that you’ve talked to for a total of 5 minutes telling you they want to feel your lips wrapped around his 🍌.
