While being very well written (which is not a surprise with King), this story completely missed the mark for me. I read it earlier today and I already don't remember what it's about.

This is basically King rewriting an HP Lovecraft story. Remove HP's flowery language and replace with a "good" character.

Another short story from Bazaar of Bad Dreams. There have been some good stories from it, but I find that I'm loving his page or 2 he discusses why her wrote the story, or something about himself. I am enjoying that part more than the story for some of them. This is one of them.

King tells us he has written over 150 poems his time as a writer and he rarely publishes them. This is one he feels was pretty good.

I do read some poetry here and there, but it's not something I'm well read. I do well by Shakespeare. I did appreciate the tone and the grisly feeling King conjures here. Still, I don't remember much from this story even after just reading it. It has faded from my mind. I'm glad he still writes poetry and this was an okay story, but not the best of the collection by any means.

It's an okay story.

Least favorite short story so far in this collection. It is framed by King as an epic poem. I guess poetry still doesn't do it for me, no matter the author, how I am reading it, or how short or long.
