I went into this thinking it was going to be something more than what it was. I chose this series to help introduce a friend to reading and she RAVED about the first book. I, myself found it to be predictable and lacking in the “dark” aspects along with too many plot holes and just all around a tad disappointing. I would say for a palate cleanser it did the job. Was Hayden morally gray? Sure. Was Calista a bratty FMC? Yes. Would this ever be a book I would recommend to someone who reads some unhinged dark romance? Absolutely not.

 A satisfying conclusion to Calista and Hayden's story. The confrontation and evitable get back together seemed really rushed to me. I wanted there to be more with ultimate face off with our "villian" and I wish there was just a bit more push and pull that we got to see between Calista and Hayden during their time apart. It seemed a bit out of character for Hayden to just leave her alone for 2 months and if we got to see him maybe suffering or his inner dialogue during those 2 months, it would feel like that fit him and his character a bit more.

This story picks up right where the first book ended! You have to read it just to figure out what happens after the secret is revealed! This one is a little more of a romance, still dark romance.

Overall I loved the duet! It’s highly addicting and a fast paced read. I’d rate the duet all together 4 stars. First book just captivated me so much!
