I do not understand how this is a book for children. When a White man goes into a dry cleaner owned by a Black woman and drops his muddy pants (after she explicitly expresses not to) and then while he's there in his underwear she doesn't get into a bad mood, but instead falls in love with him and three years later marries him. What message is this sending to kids? Why was it published? That element takes away from any message it might have about getting rid of bad moods - not to mention the bad mood seems to just go right to the next person and that's how you get rid of it, by seeing someone else's misfortune. NOT recommended.

Had potential, but it got super weird and stopped making sense.

I read this book to the kid I was baby sitting. It counts I don’t care what you say Veera.

This was a lot of fun. The art is great and the story is as funny as you would hope from Lemony Snicket! I love the visuals of the Bad Mood cloud and I have to say, Mrs. Durham was remarkably tolerant about things. XD

That Bad Mood has visited all of us several times in the past year! I love the character illustrations, especially Mrs Durham and her beehive hair.

The illustrations were gorgeous but I wasn't really compelled by the storyline

February 2018 - a mixed bag. The art is fun, the story enjoyable to read aloud, and I love the concept of a bad mood moving from person to person (or animal to animal) - Ben definitely thought it was funny, and found the pants thing hilarious at face value. But it bothers me that it's a pushy man and a woman of color, and that this somehow leads to them getting married?! Totally unnecessary to the bad mood message, and disturbing.
