Written as a prequel to Mists of Avalon, this is a much simpler book showing how the events that take place in it are set up a generation or two before.
It’s a comfort read for me as I read it the first time as a young teenager.

It's a book too full of story that it makes me dizzy and if it weren't for the whole story, the plot would be very nice

I'm already a huge fan of Mists, so this book was a natural choice for me to pick up when I had an extra Audible credit. The narrator (Roslynn XXXX) does a phenomenal job and really brings it to life, so while I definitely encourage reading this book, if you'd rather listen, this is one that is done very well. I can't say much about the plot that hasn't already been said, but I will say that I am very glad that it ended how it did.
- Caillean is my favorite character here and I loved reading her parts, few that they were.
- Gaius pisses me the hell off for much of the book.

I loved The Mists of Avalon. The story of King Arthur from a female perspective. It was a lovely, complex, engaging story. HOWEVER...the Forest House was BORRRRINNNNNNNNGGGGG. And hokey.
Forget the Forest House!
