oh I thought this would be a fun relatable (and somewhat heavy) story abt an immigrants’ daughter being a late bloomer and learning to let go. then I started crying halfway through. very visceral, in all emotions, and I loved reading abt the love that exists even when there are bad feelings there too.

It felt like i was reading about myself. It is such a beautifully written book about finding yourself and the challenges and dynamics of being a young woman raised in an African household.
