Plot was fine, good pacing and keeping you on your toes. Preferred this as a story to the second book in the series which I gave 3 stars too but I truly cannot stomach the blatant racism and orientalism + Islamophobia. Like you don’t need to constantly remind me this book is written by a white woman who is both fetishizing and simultaneously vilanizing Arab culture and men. Have a POC male lead be sexy and faking a country name does not make you not racist girly
Moderate: Slavery, Racism, Xenophobia, Islamophobia, and Sexual content
