Meh. Good enough that I look forward to reading the next one in the series. It reminded me a lot of the House of Night Series, which I'm sure there are many comparisons out there already. It was refreshing (if that is a word I can use at all with my next sentence) to have a YA novel contain just the right amount of cursing and sex to make it seem real, without me thinking "Who's going to let there 16 year old read this?" We'll see what happens next.
A great book to start the series! I'm excited to read more!

I really thought I never read this before but it seems too familiar so I'm guessing I read it and just forgot what happened. Either way, even though I'm like 10000 years too late, I see what the hype was about.
Heard there's a movie, it'll be interesting to see how they portrayed the events of this book.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Fast-Paced, Addictive, and Full of Drama
Vampire Academy is an exciting start to Richelle Mead’s popular series, and I really enjoyed it. The world-building is engaging, with its unique take on vampire lore, and the mix of action, romance, and friendship makes for a fast-paced, addictive read. Rose, as the narrator, is bold, snarky, and flawed in ways that make her both frustrating and fun to follow, while her bond with Lissa adds emotional depth to the story.
There are definitely moments where the drama feels a little over the top, but it works with the boarding school setting and keeps the tension high. Mead does a great job balancing mystery, danger, and humor, making the book hard to put down once the story gets going.
Overall, Vampire Academy is a strong opener to a series that promises even more intrigue and intensity ahead. If you like paranormal YA with sharp characters and plenty of twists, this is a great place to start.
