A nightmare come to life, this book is dark, twisty, and chock full of murder! I really enjoyed this one. The cast is full of terrible characters behaving badly, which happens to be one of my favorite tropes.

There were so many great twists and truly horrific moments. Be prepared for gore and body horror! Despite the fact that the characters were truly horrible people, they were wonderfully developed, and I was absolutely glued to their stories! This book is perfect for fans of both horror and thrillers. It also has major Clue vibes, which I absolutely adored!

This was a pretty enjoyable page-turner of a whodunit, I did feel like it was lacking in character development (as in, I found myself not really caring about or engaging with any of them), which held it back from being great.

Six strangers house share for their freshman year at university. During the nine months of classes they become frenemies; one becomes a murderer.
20 years later the remaining housemates are lured to a bed and breakfast weekend getaway under false pretenses. To their dismay they are all together again because someone has to pay for the housemate who didn't make it. But who?
I enjoyed 60% of this book. The premise was excellent. The writing was engaging. I felt the isolation and the tension within the hotel. I loved the slasher/thriller element of the story.
Then about 60%-65% into the storyline it starts to falter as we are introduced to a new character. Why? It completely took me out of the mystery.
I turned the Kindle off at 80% because of the massive exposition dump. It would have been better if the information was dispersed throughout the story as it naturally evolved. I eventually finished the book but was disappointed at the end.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with this digital ARC.

A strong 3.5. I haven’t read a thriller in a while, so it was nice to be spooked for bit. Got a little lost in the timeline but definitely wanted to see it play out.

I liked the modern Agatha Christie vibe at the beginning of this book, but it quickly fell apart. At least one of the characters was clearly there just to be a plot device. The others were so weak or so loathsome that I didn't really care who did anything and why. There are plenty of twists and turns, but without an interest in motivations, none of it really matters. I wish it had been better.

- too many characters & too much back and forth; I found so much of this incredibly difficult and confusing to follow
- so many plot holes?? how did the "villain" know everything they knew? who the killer was in 1995, full conversations between other people when they were not there.. etc etc. why did someone in the group originally kill in 1995 over something SO SMALL & INSIGNIFICANT?
stealing answers to a test?? I also don't believe someone could assume someone's identity so well that 4 people that lived with them for over a year not realize..I get it was years earlier but still. nobody looks that similarly, not to mention voice/mannerisms/etc.

idk just super unbelievable & convoluted with plot holes galore. *long fart noise*

Wow- what a roller coaster ride! This book was a page turner and kept me guessing until the very end. The story involves 6 college students/roommates in present day and 20 years ago, when one of them is murdered. They all end up back at the same house again and the game of “who dun it” begins. At first, the characters blended together a bit and there wasn’t really a protagonist, but the story itself was entertainment enough. I would definitely recommend this book if you are into thrillers and trying to figure out intricate mysteries. 4 stars!
