Ten years ago, an eighteen year of Ethan Barron dared sixteen year old Faith Harrington to take him up on his offer for a ride home. For Faith, it was a chance to step outside the expected and be with the bad boy she was drawn to. For Ethan, it was to prove something. That he was good enough.
Fast forward ten years and we find Faith and Ethan in very different places.
Faith's world have fallen apart with the conviction of her father in a Madoff style ponzi scheme and the end of her marriage to a man who was too much like her father. She's moved back home to Serendipity, NY hoping to rebuild her life and prove to people she's not at all like the two men who let her down. As a start, she's going to open her own interior design business and hope that she can get customers despite what her father's done.
Ethan moved back to Serendipity to prove a point. He was back to put down roots and rebuild the shattered relationship with his brothers. When he'd left town ten years ago, it was with the knowledge that if he hadn't been desperate for attention and doing all he could to get it, his parents wouldn't have been on their way to pick him up when they were hit by a drunk driver. If that hadn't have happened, he wouldn't have run off, leaving his younger brother behind.
Carly Phillips creates beautifully flawed characters and she doesn't disappoint with Ethan and Faith. Both of them seem stuck trying to make up for past mistakes, some of which they truly don't own, in hopes of getting the acceptance they both want. In the end, they find it's accepting themselves that makes all the difference in the world.
Fortunately for us, them finding this acceptance comes with a great story and secondary cast of characters (which set up the next books perfectly). It was a great read which had me turning pages as fast as I could read them to see what kind of HEA Faith and Ethan would have. You will not be disappointed!

I had this book on my Nook for awhile and kept putting off reading it. I'm not sure why I put it off, but I so wish I hadn't. From the first pages I was hooked. It's well written, the character development is great and the plot itself is tight and well thought out. I really loved it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a sweet romance with enough spice to make it hot (and it is HOT), but not over the top. For more of this review and what makes this book stand apart for me (and more about Ethan *swoon*) check out my blog: http://crackedandbrokenglass.blogspot.com/2013/03/book-review-serendipity-by-carly.html
I really enjoyed this book. Ethan and Faith have such an amazing chemistry and then add in attitudinal Tessa it's full of snark and sass.
Great, nice, easy read. Exactly what I needed to start off my long weekend! It was nice to finally get to read this book, considering that it is the first book in what is (so far) a 6 book series, and I've already read the other 5 books.

Note: This is the first book in awhile that I read in just one sitting. The family dynamics, down-to-earth romance, and wonderful story was just what I needed to get out of my reading funk!
What I Loved: Tess! Normally I am not a fan of teenagers in my romance books but in this case, it really worked. The way she interacted with Ethan and Faith was just fantastic. Was Texx angsty? Sure. Did Tess have very good reasons for being angsty for a 14 year old? Yes! I think she also gave something Ethan needed--a way to prove to himself that he really had changed! The romance between Ethan and Faith was one of the most down-to-earth and organic relationships I have read lately. The interactions between all three were something I looked forward to all of Serendipity.
What I Liked: The family interactions were the heart of this story and I really am interested to see how they all play out in the series. Ethan's attempts to rebuild his relationships with his brothers (Dare and Nash) were both heart-breaking and hopeful. I think Tess will help mend the gap over the course of the series. Faith's interactions and acceptance of her mother was tenuous at times but done really well. Kate and Nick were my favorite side characters though and I am hoping they get a story!
Complaints: None
Why I gave it a 4.25: The was a really good romance with a hopeful story attached!

I read this book years ago and decided to re-read it because it was so good. Ethan and Faith have known each for years. Earth was the town bad boy and Faith was the town’s good girl. Ten years have passed and a lot has changed. The roles have been reversed as far as how the town sees them. Ethan has now made something of himself and Faith feels like she has a lot to prove. This was a great story because it shows how the each one of them overcame their issues and differences and moved on from their pasts. Each one had their own problems to work throw and they came out on the other side for their HEA. Brought me back to why I loved reading her to begin with.
I waited way to long to start this series and I am now hooked! Loved Faith and Ethan but Tess stole my heart. I can't wait to read the next book ASAP

This small town second chance romance was such a great read. Ethan and Faith have known each other since they were kids. She was the princess he was the bad boy. One ride home on the back of his motorcycle and a stolen kiss and Faith starts to think of Ethan in a different way. Flash forward years later and both of them have grown up and are returning to Serendipity to find themselves and hopefully makes amends with family. I loved seeing Faith on her journey to finding out who she is and what truly makes her happy. She clearly was meant to be an interior designer. Ethan isn’t the bad boy he used to be and has truly changed for the better. Throw in a surprise Ethan and his brothers didn’t see coming and I was flying through the last half of this book to see how it ended. Looking forward to reading the other books in this series to see how Ethan’s brothers get their HEA
