The pacing, character development, and writing are atrocious. The protagonists experience almost instantaneous lust and the focus is largely on the encounters between the two of them. It was painful to read. The dialogue felt jarring like the author has never experienced intimacy in a realistic setting and the side characters (at least thus far) were written as if they are meant to be neurotic sex objects. The male lead in the novel is atrocious and if I ever met him in real life I would dump a bucket of cold water on him. I wanted to like the main female protagonist, but she comes across as a “damsel” while suddenly able to move entire objects with her power. Also there were just scenes where there was zero context of why events happened and it added to an already jumbled narrative. Please review the summary before purchasing this book, or at least save yourself the torture and download it to Kindle.

They can’t get through one paragraph without thinking about, saying, or implying sex. There is barely a story here. It’s just porn.

Was this book good? I don't know. The plot got forgotten about, half of the time the story didn't make sense or it contradicted itself. But I couldn't stop reading it??? I literally kept saying this is so bad and yet, I couldn't put it down.

Reads like a second draft, switches tones abruptly and skips some key logistics which make it hard to read. The author defending her writing style in the beginning was off-putting and definitely felt like there were some personal slights sprinkled in. Some good spice though and the politics at the end got interesting, although the set up and world building was inconsistent. Some phrases were overused and that got annoying. There is potential but I’m not going to read the rest of the series to find out if it gets better.

I picked this up thinking that it was just going to be a fun lengthy fantasy and didn’t do much research on it beforehand. As one can guess, I was very wrong. I was not prepared for the dark romance elements of this book and I highly recommend that one checks trigger warnings and does research before delving into this.
Some folks love dark romance with these very strong sexual elements but I’ve learned I’m not one of these people. To each their own, this just wasn’t my cup of tea.

“Women are like exotic cars.”  🤮Watt pad toxic like romance. Then it gets worse. Poorly written plot and dialogue. Also incorrect take on virginity and so many things. I wanted to like it because witches…but alas women are not cats. Or at least I’m not a car

I wish there was a bit more plot, I’ve heard the second one is better!

Ew. Basically a rip off ACOTAR. Mature themes but the writing was childish and the book was filled with sexism, internalised misogny and slutshaming from the first page. Reads like a 12 year olds first wattpad novel after watching twilight especially bc of her silver hair (bfr), colour changing eyes, magically hairless body and her 5ft 3 status. Seriously, one of the characters is called Luna and she's an alpha werewolf. This got boring rq and the sexualisation of the fmc including the constant pointing out of the fact that shes an innocent virgin  who desperately needs to have sex according to literally everyone was really irritating. She was also bitchy to/ abou  every other female in the story. And the author literally only threw in the mothers abuse for pity points-so it seems as it was so badly written. The plot and worldbuilding is a raggedy thread barely holding the sexual assault/ harassment scenes together.  Also surprise surprise she has never felt this way about a (blue eyed blonde haired who's a towering giant with tattoos and plenty of money oh and also the king obviously! ) man before. Lastly the ml is a weirdo - " you're starting to look like a murder victim it's giving me a hard on "   , " you're definitely a virgin - your pureness is very rare" who specialised in toxic and borderline if not abusive relationships . Wouldn't recommend.
