Where do I beginā€¦ this was a roller coaster. šŸ˜…

It certainly kept my interest the whole time and the smut was decent.

But I did have some issues with this bookā€¦ the word ā€œfuckā€ was overused to say the least, the sexual violence was very graphic, and the dialogue was repetitive and a lot of it was unnecessary. Like the whole book couldā€™ve easily been cut down by over a hundred pages.

The plot is super thin and I didnā€™t know what was happening for a lot of the book, and the major conflict mostly centered around virginity and rape. Toward the end I was more invested in the characters than I was at the beginning, but they were still super unlikeable and it was hard to root for anyone.

I hear the series does get better in the second book!

Terrible. I nearly dnf several times. The world could be interesting but you canā€™t really tell because the characters are horrible and I hated them all. They never get better. Thereā€™s plenty of smut but itā€™s honestly gross because both characters just suck. Do not recommend.

This was...... something. I was very tempted to give this book a one star but, like, here's the thing; it was entertaining. Albeit, in the same way shitty reality tv is entertaining. Like, "God, these people suck and this is such garbage content but why can't I stop watching?"

Anyway, this book is fun to read if you don't take it seriously--and especially if you hate read it with friends or something--otherwise just skip this one, I think. It's way too long to be this bad.

(Also, that disclaimer at the beginning was such a red flag to begin with. "caveman-like asshole" ???? ma'am???)

I have absolutely no idea how this book made it to print. It feels like an author sat down with a bottle of wine and wrote it in a night?
I feel like, had it had time and energy spent in it, it could have had real meaning and substance. Except it was all f*** and c*** which isn't really a plot? And heavens, don't get me started on the dialogue, four pages of back and forth that could have been half a page.
Bottom line, just as everyone says, the only reason I made it this far was because it was a train wreck I couldn't look away from. Buh-bye.

This book is dark. But still manages to be compelling.

Draws on inspiration from various mythology but Hutchins makes it her own, the storyline mostly gets interesting in the second half of the book.

Enemies to lovers but actually enemies. Is this a bully romance? šŸ˜‚

This might be the worst book Iā€™ve ever read in my entire life.

If a 13 year old writing their very first wattpad fan fiction, an even more incompetent version of the Riverdale writing team, and a porn director collaborated to produce a work of fiction, this would be the result.

The world-building was half a**ed and done almost exclusively through infodumping. The romance (if you can even call it that) was this repetitive back and forth between the MC and love interest that got annoying so quickly. The plot was nonexistent, and the very little there was of it was so contrived and made no sense. Letā€™s not even talk about how awful the dialogue was. Also, it was just way too fucking long. So much couldā€™ve been cut out and it wouldnā€™t have affected the story whatsoever.

However, as harsh as Iā€™ve been, Iā€™d be lying if I said this wasnā€™t entertaining as hell. It was like a mess I couldnā€™t look away from. Also, I actually enjoyed the ending when (SPOILER)
Aria kills her twin and declares war against Knox. I didnā€™t think this book would actually go there.
It makes me kinda want to read the rest of the series.

Iā€™d recommend this for anyone looking for a good laugh and a turn-off-your-brain type of story.
