It's more a 4.5 star really !
I fell in love with Emma Hamm stories thanks to her Otherwolrd series (Heart of the Fae, veins of magic, the faceless woman ....)
Her world building is amazing and Jane&Ruric story didn't escaped her awesomeness !
If you have read the first you have to read the end of this duology. You will learn more about Jane and Ruric's complex relationship, the goblin complicated way of life for futur generation, Willow and Luther are back in the game with more depth, new characters enter the game and the ending is really well thought !
I won't say to much because spoilers are the worst ... just read it and find out yourself =)

The second book quickly picks up from the first. Jane and Ruric must follow the trail of the miner into the city, where there is treachery behind the beauty of the city. We do meet new characters and Jane's siblings take more active roles in this book. I really enjoyed the dynamics and how Jane and Ruric tried to sort their feelings for each other amidst the heart-ache and the death.
The ending is a symbolic gesture of learning to live with the different and how love and friendship can grow even in the most difficult circumstances.

Really enjoyed this one, although the resolution was a little confusing. I really enjoy Emma Hamm as an author!
