This series is fun. I liked the first book a bit more, but overall both were great.

Esther Hatch never misses. This was another fun, enjoyable read.

A home in each other
This book is delightful, it is very different than the last. Here the couple have been friends since childhood. When you romantically love your best friend your place, your home is each other. That is obvious with every interaction. This book takes that beauty and adds sweetness and laughter.

I have yet to read an Esther Hatch book that I did not enjoy. I love the humor, the romance (with so many swoon-worthy moments!), and the escape that comes from reading her words.
If you’re looking for something 100% realistic to the time period… this is not for you. But if you are looking for “Victorian RomCom” you’ve hit the jackpot! I found myself laughing out loud, smiling at the sweet moments, and staying up way to late to sneak in one more chapter (or five, but who’s counting?

I really enjoyed this story, even more than the first in the series. Like the first, it is humorous, lighthearted, and a bit ridiculous, but that just adds to the fun.
The characters’ emotional growth is well done, with each learning to trust themselves and the people they care about. The premise of the Earl hiding from his sisters is silly, but it adds a lot of charm to the story. Overall, it’s a cute, feel-good read. Just let go of any seriousness and enjoy!
I listened to the audiobook, and as with the first book, Noah Wall nailed the narration of the story and made it even more delightful!
