This book was such a sweet read!!! I loved both Ian and Delilah's characters so much!

Since she can remember, Delilah has always crushed on her brother's best friend. But what happens when that friend is back in your life many years later and returning those same feelings?

Ian was such a wholesome character. Always putting others before himself. Even to his own detriment.

I loved the way Delilah stood up for Ian and always had his back! She stood up for him even when they were kids.

This book was definitely a sweet read! BUT the spiceeeee! Was spicy! Ian had one heck of a dirty mouth!

The third act of this story really elevated it for me overall. It can get annoying to me when a character has a secret that is blatantly kept from the reader even when that character’s POV is shown. Ian has a secret that kept inching up to that annoying point. It was obvious his best friend and ex-wife knew his secret as it was talked about with them more than once, yet the reader was still in the dark. I figured it out pretty quickly, but I was still getting annoyed that the how and why weren’t on the table yet.

Is that important to the book as a whole? Well, no. That’s just something I don’t like personally. The rest of the elements of this book worked well. Ian and Delilah are adorable together, especially before they have their first kiss. There is a lot of flirting and wondering if the other is really flirting, plus intense longing. Both are such great characters; kind, compassionate, loyal. I loved seeing their relationship bloom.

This is a brother’s best friend story and Delilah’s brother didn’t disappoint. He was great comic relief when things got tough a few times. Ian’s father is a terrible person and has eroded much of Ian’s confidence in the last few years, but those in his inner circle don’t let him get to low. The side characters really win the show in this one. Ian’s ex-wife and her new wife are fantastic, too.

Even with my annoyance as to the way the secret was handled, this was a great read in the end, especially with that last act when everything exploded. I appreciate how the author kept Delilah true to her character and Ian’s friends had his back.

Alright, I was a big fan of this book by the end. A Twilight conversation goes a long way in improvising my opinion. Also, Lila and Ian banter was great. Jack and Abby as additions to the story were fantastic for laughs and the plot, respectively. Mei and Bella were epic.
