I have been really enjoying this series. I have to admit that I liked the first one better by a smidge since I didn't see the twist on that one. I managed to figure out who did it in this one which slowed down my pace towards the end of the book. Overall, it is very enjoyable and I look forward to continuing with the series.
By sheer force of will I want so badly to read all of these books. For the recipes and the cozy aspect. The writing isn’t particularly novel, the not like other girls sentiment is pretty 90s, and specifically the weird tangent the author goes on about Native American iconography… weird. Anyway I’ll be reading all of these books just to say I did but it might be a minute before I pick up the next one.

I feel pretty much the same as the first book. I like the plot but the other crap is dated and rubs me wrong. I looked and this book came out 22 years ago so I'm not really surprised. People were still saying the R slur and fat shaming everyone back then.
I had to go back to catch this one. don't do that. Try to read them in order since things grow on each other and it is hard to get excited about a plot point when you know it is already a done deal.
