Strawberry Shortcake Murder
Hannah Swensen, Book 2

I Picked Up This Book Because: Continue the series.

Media Type: Audiobook
Source: BC Public Library
Dates Read: 8/26/23 - 8/29/23
Stars: 4 Stars
Narrator(s): Suzanne Toren

The Characters:

Hannah Swensen:
Andrea Todd: Hannah’s sister and sidekick
Lisa (Hannah’s business partner), Mike (Cop and love interest), Norman (love interest number 2), Lucy (Town reporter), Boyd (High school basketball coach), Moishe, Other town residents

The Story:

This small town is getting really interesting really quick. Not one but two murders this time. What did Hannah do before she had all these crimes to investigate? I like that Hannah and her sister are repairing their relationship and working together to solve these crimes however Hannah does come off as condescending sometimes.

The Random Thoughts:

This book was published in 2001 so there are some problematic words/phrases used but they were acceptable at the time so I would not judge the author on this at this time they are just a little rough on my 2023 ears.

i didn’t like this one as much as the last. i am usually the WORST at predicting things but that was not the case with this book.
i was listening to this audiobook while working and was able to predict both the second death (can’t remember the characters name) and that mason was the killer far before it was revealed. maybe that’s because the format is the same as the first book? death, second death, reveal? either way was slightly disappointed

Hannah returns! She brings with her the next murder mystery she needs to solve. This time Danielle, introduced in the first book, is the prime suspect in her husband's murder.

Hannah knows that Danielle didn't do it, but none believe her. Mike, the smexy cop that transferred from Minneapolis, barely listens to her.

So now the race is on to find the real killer.

I enjoyed this second installment of this series. There is a deepening relationship between Norman, Mike, and Hannah as well as the difference between Andrea and Hannah's relationship from the first book.

Of course, there are new recipes to try.

mysterious

She has no faith in her brother-in-law or Mike regarding solving cases. Plus, she's leading Norman and Mike on; figure out who you want to be with already. At least she made Lisa partner. I was getting irritated with her taking advantage of the woman!
