I didn't like this book as much as the first one. I think I may need a break from the series for a little bit. While I love the characters in this series I felt like it took a long time for the story to heat up in this case.

I enjoyed this story even more than the first one, and I look forward to reading the rest of the series. I like how Joanne Fluke makes Hannah and her friends seem like real people rather than perfect citizens; it makes it more enjoyable to read.
A Bake Off in Lake Eden! Sign Me Up! Of course Hannah must step over at least one dead body in the process! Blackmail, murder and intrigue are all great parts of this book. Let me just tell you that the recipes in this are fantastic. I took both the chocolate chip crunch and molasses cookies to my office and they were HUGE HITS.

I have so many issues with the main character... but I like the mystery. So I’ll probably keep reading until it gets unbearable.
Here we are again with another Hannah Swensen mystery. It has a similar formula to the first book and others in the cozy mystery genre but honestly I can't get enough of this small town and it's lovable cast of characters. While it's not a piece of ground breaking literature I still keep coming back to the series for a much needed escape from reality.
I really enjoyed this book because of the characters. This story was really engaging. The one thing I didn't like was that there were recipes in between the passages. I would have preferred if they were all at the end so it wouldn't have taken me away from the story. Hannah is such a likable character and I can't wait to read more books that she is in. This story is about a cooking show judging contest and the mystery of who killed one of the judges. Hannah gets involved to help a friend and she slowly uncovers what happens.
