4.5 stars. I felt more rushed In the writing compared to her previous book. But still very enjoyable and I loved the characters and dynamics.

Good book. Racier than I anticipated. Def a slow burn and when I say slow I mean EXCRUCIATINGLY slow. I'd recommend it tho.

Libby/audio

I have really liked a few of this authors books, so i decided to try this one.

I really did not enjoy this one. I think what it boils down to is i didn't like the FMC. Shes one of those Manic Pixie Dream Girls, with a heart defect, a boys haircut, a wanderlust spirit, a chip on her shoulder and one of those super confident, conceited attitudes that is like catnip to guys. She subsists on sugar and booze, and sleeps around with random guys, because shes sad and in love with her brother's best friend. He's been in a long term relationship for years now, and he shows up to do some construction work on her house. She also has this weird antagonistic relationship with her twin brother. She's an 'artsy' photographer who lost her muse.

She is 'skin hungry' says weird stuff like she 'wants to know what the MMCs bones smell like.' Like what?

So way back when, he confessed his love for her, and her Grandmother bought her a plane ticket and told her she was 'too wild to settle down,' even if she did love him, and to run. So she did.
Cut to now, and she can barely keep it in her pants for this guy, this guy that she left, that she could have had, but, now that he is taken, now she wants him.

It's beyond irritating.

So anyway, they do some work on this house. All of the male species falls for her, pant after her, and he eventually confesses that he is single now. And they begin a slow dance around her impulsive nature, and his careful cautious nature.

Things come to a head, and things eventually work out, after a few rocky moments.

I want to be happy for them. But everything about this chick annoys me in every way.

So yeah, thats about it. Its fine. You will probably like it more than i did, especially if you like the MC.

The story could have been a great one had the writing been better. I feel like this story needs to be looked over. The writing was bad, the dialogue and pacing hard to follow and it was very repetitive. I feel like in some scenes I could see the potential in the writing but the majority was just bad.

In terms of the characters and overall story, it could have been better. I found it really inconsistent. I could see what the author was going for but it missed the mark. However, I will still read her first novel because I heard it was much better.
tense medium-paced

Light read - childhood friends to lovers, exploration of chronic illness.
Some of the characters’ reactions are hard to follow.
