Stunning. I was initially drawn in by the cover, and I have to say it does the novel justice. I was never quite sure where it was headed, but was completely captivated for the entirety of its strange journey.

This book was so horrendous and so beautiful and so infuriating all at the same time. The last third of it turned me inside out and wrung me like a rag. Still trying to sort out how I feel about this one. I know leaving me outraged was precisely Quatro's point and I can't decide if that makes me more or less frustrated by this book...

DID NOT FINISH: 35%

I’d probably like this book if I could stomach the way the guy talks. And thinks. Too familiar.

This is a great premise for a short story that is clearly stretched into an awkward novel shape. The form shifts into first person and a play are interesting writing experiments but don’t add much to the novel overall. Ultimately, the novel peaked early with that premise but never rose beyond it.

Strange, sometimes hard to follow, but as a reader you’re eager to know what happens next.
