Clarke was one of the best writers who could make a solo person looking out a window seem wondrous, exciting, and thought-provoking. His ability to expand the reader's mind makes his sometimes clumsy descriptions of emotions forgivable. My mind is blown.

One of my favorite books. The movie is incredible, but the book gives another dimension that really draws you into the full experience that Clarke and Kubrick were trying to create.

Equal parts philosophical, intriguing, and accurate science (fiction), this book is a true masterpiece.

An interesting story progression that jumps around through the history of mankind. Very curious about further Clarke books now that I have read the novel he is most famous for. Interesting fact: the movie was written at the same time as the book, although this story is mostly based on "The Sentinel" that he had written before. You can easily see how this book has shaped attitudes towards extraterrestrial life forms and civilizations and definitely has cemented itself in the genre as a classic science fiction tale.

Mình nghĩ là nhờ việc xem phim trước nên khi đọc cuốn này mình hình dung được bối cảnh dễ dàng hơn, và nhờ đó mà trải nghiệm đọc cũng không khó khăn mấy.
Nhưng nếu bạn là người mới tìm hiểu sci-fi và cũng gà mờ tiếng anh như mình thì 1 tip nhỏ là đừng bập vô cuốn này vội ha :>
