Ah, much better than Heinlein. This was so well thought out in concept, and pacing, and writing. It is just so modern for something that is decades old.

The book is so good. Don't waste time on the movie.
Finished this book, and all I can say is WOW. The mysteries of all things are almost too abstract to fathom. Yet the human mind can take an idea and craft it into reality, even if that reality exists only on these pages. Those words coming to life at the seat of consciousness. Oh how wonderful, and terrifying is the unknown of our existence. Being alive is strange, but it is also such a precious gift.

Just perfection, even 55 years later.
This book is really something.
First of all, almost every aspect of this book is really good. The concept is incredible, the suspension was very well constructed and I was really invested in the story. HAL was my favorite character, now I want to read more books about AI. The human characters were not very interesting but they served a purpose and were not annoying.
And then the ending happened and I hate it so much. What the f*ck is up with that ending? I'm not going to explain what it was but if you have read this book or seen the movie you know what I'm talking about. It didn't ruined the book but it definitely lowered my rating.
