Pros: very interesting. Much more mature themes. Great expansion of the wizarding world to more than just Hogwarts.

Reread 2020
As I start this review, I want to preface that I do not support the author in any which way possible. She’s a shitty person and doesn’t deserve any liking of any sort. But I do love the series and will just keep them separate for forever and not really be talking about them anywhere but like this because I do review everything I read.
I hate that the fourth book always gets so much distaste. It’s usually at the bottom of lists as a least favorite and that’s not fair. This is probably and will always be one of my top favorites. The movie SUCKS in comparison even though I do like the movie, it just doesn’t compare in the slightest to the book. They skip SO much information. Sirius is in the book so much and talked about and seen but the movie just SKIPS it all! He’s my favorite and he just gets missed for the most part in the movie. The heck?! When I reread this the first time I was amazed at how much gets skipped or how things don’t show up from this book until the next movie and everything. There is so much missing information in the movie and the book is just so good. This always pisses me off. There’s even more that as I look at my review from 2016 how I missed tons then too!
I really recommend these books on audio. The audiobooks are all fantastic and I love them! So glad I did my rereads via audio.

I never realized how much I love the fourth book. Even though it's been some years since I read this for the first time, it was so great reading this. I remember reading it for the first time, I was reading out of my sisters editions and her hardcover of the fourth's spine was falling so apart that I was afraid to read out of it so my mom went and bought me a copy for myself. The thing I remember most was that I think I skimmed the last fourth of it when I first read it. I was still young and hadn't read many huge books and I think I was getting sick of how long it was and I just wanted to know what was going to happen.
This time I flew through it. I never wanted to put it down. I absolutely love the fourth book. I forgot that S.P.E.W started in this book. Based on my first reading I know I skimmed the end because I never knew the Phoenix hair in Harry and Voldemort's wands was Fawkes. Also Sirius, love him! How this is where you meet Bill and Charlie but they aren't in the movie. I forgot about so much because I would just watch the movie a lot but the movie misses so much. I hate that the movie barely has Sirius in it. WHYY??!? I love him so much, he's one of my absolute favorite people and he was in so much of the book but why not the movie. Also Winky wasn't in the movie. I like Winky. And Dobby?! Dobby should've been in the movie too!!
All I know is that this book is amazing and that it is really up there for a favorite. Even though really all the books are favorites! Now to rewatch the movie even though it's got so many differences to it.
