This is the perfect book for parent educators who are looking to find out what Charlotte Mason homeschooling is before diving in to Ms. Mason’s 6 volumes of educational philosophy.

This was an excellent overview of Miss Mason's principles. Karen Glass has a gift for presenting information in a concise, relatable way. I know I will be re-reading this in the future.

This is a great overview of the philosophy side of a Charlotte Mason style education. I’ve read most of the CM books and found Karen Glass’ book very helpful in furthering my understanding.

What an important contribution to the knowledge and further progress of those laboring to use the methods and philosophy of Charlotte Mason this slim volume is!
Karen Glass has breathed fresh life with a compact yet accurate and compelling exploration of CM's work and writings. The writings of Karen Andreola and Sally Clarkson beckoned me as a young mom and earnest homeschooler. By no means was I a pioneer in homeschooling, but it certainly felt like it 20 years ago. I'm still plodding along, and I've lost my CM way as my children grew older. I absolutely NEEDED the siren song of this book right at this moment. I still have one remaining child at home, and I know that I've neglected some important CM principles. I plan to make some course corrections.
Thank you, Karen Glass, for this wonderful little book. I highly recommend this one for both those beginning an educational journey and those who feel they are veterans.

I grew so much through this book. Karen has truly studied Miss Mason’s works. She clearly lays bare the explanation of Charlotte Mason’s 20 principles and explains them in plain and simple language. She explains their relationship and how to apply them in our lives and homes.

Charlotte Mason provides a wealth of wisdom regarding educational philosophy and practical approaches. Glass’s genius on display in In Vital Harmony is a clear distillation of that wisdom, focusing parents and educators on two primary principles. Children are born persons, and education is the science of relations. Perhaps the highest compliment would be this is a wonderful “narrated composition” of Miss Mason’s philosophy.

A harmonious look at how all of CM’s principles come together.
