More Tumblr-post based excerpts than poetry. Some of these are good enough life-lessons but nothing that no one has ever heard/known. Could've been better portrayed. Some of the parts felt a bit exaggerated, and I mean this in no disrespect to anything/anyone that the author's writing specifically addresses, it did have potential to do a couple of stars better.

Wow. I feel like I went on a journey through my entire teens/early 20s in under an hour. Reflecting, accepting, laughing, crying, and being inspired. It's been a long time since anything made me feel this way. A must must must read and reread.

My only regret is not buying the physical book. I read this on Kindle and I think it would've been much better on paperback <3

medium-paced

Love how little words she uses in her poems with such great meaning. No offence, but to any saying that it is meaningless or boring its probably just not your thing.

DID NOT FINISH

I think there is a chance that this would have hit differently if I read it when it came out. I think this style of poetry has unfortunately been a bit overdone in the years since so I had a lot of trouble connecting to it without getting frustrated by the form. I also wasn’t expecting it to be so heavy from the first page so I will warn anyone that is trying to decide if they want to read it that it does deal with themes of abuse.
