A lovely, wild, and zany ride with memorable characters I couldn't help but root for. Magic? Maybe. Chuckles? Definitely.

3.5

If you grew up in the Chicago western burbs, have a connection to Univ of Chicago AND were/are fascinated by the US Remote Viewing program, then this will be a fun read for you.

All the geographical connections and very Chicago “Family” experiences will keep you chuckling till the end!

Audio version is really well read too BTW.

Wasn't in the mood to read about grifters.

I expected... more.

An entertaining, dark, quick-paced whirl through a few months in the life of a family of psychics and scam artists. There's teenage lust, pizza-making mobsters, government spies, and 1995 AOL humor. Even when I disliked some characters, I rooted for them. Not too shabby.

I felt like this book was slow to start, but once the setup was in place it moved very fast and I found myself cheering for the family full of flawed individuals as they came together. I loved this book by the end way more than I anticipated.

3.5. Weird, but in a good way. Definitely unlike anything I’ve read, but I didn’t love the ending. I think I liked it more because it was set in the western suburbs.
