I read Daryl Gregory's novel The Devil's Alphabet when I was younger enjoyed it, purchased Spoonbenders when it came out, but could never quite get into it. To be honest, I think I might have just been too young.
This book is fun, and clever, and I loved existing with the Telemachus family for awhile.

After I finally got into this, I enjoyed it. It’s a novel about a family who just happen to be psychics…or conmen…or both. I teared up in a couple of places and laughed in far more. The best line, which I hope not to forget, is “Denny’s is a hellscape of unfettered free will.”
I liked this one a lot. Psychics, hucksters, mobsters, magicians, remote viewing, family dysfunction, quirky characters.
