I mean wow, hit'em with all the feels! I've got emotional whiplash from Taylor and Juan. We got to meet these two in Wild Card and boy do we take a dive into the secrets these two have been keeping. Taylor has been living her life because of a deal her biological father has made when she turns 21, which leads to an unexpected surprise for Taylor. Juan is Mal's best friend and has been around with these two while at school. Juan has his life set until his past and family make an appearance, which causes him to reevaluate his life. However, Juan and Taylor are constantly popping up in each other's lives since Taylor's sister Mal, but these two thrive off being mean to each other and ignoring the truth, causing a lot of heartbreaking moments that make you want to knock some sense into them. Until, one day these two see each other again and their lives become interconnected. Juan and Taylor have quite similar backgrounds and secrets that will pull them together, but cause both of them to go into denial. King of Hearts will rule your heart, you will get sucked in from the start and your heart will be pummeled, but slowly put back together by moments that will make you feel all the feels! Don't miss out!

Taylor and Juan were perfect for each other. They came from monster families but had the purest hearts. That didn’t mean they weren’t willing to do whatever it takes to save their family! This was a beautiful single mom, forced proximity, enemies to lover story. Juan feels obligated to care for his best friend little sister, but was it out of duty? Or did he had a crush on her? While Taylor pretends to be a careless college student, you learn quick that she is just building walls. Juan has experience with building walls himself, he has a lot of decisions to make for his future, including things that he swore never to be part of. But circumstances may force them to follow a different path. The king of hearts had to make life altering decisions, while trying to knock Taylor’s walls down. Absolutely recommend!

SO MUCH BETTER than the first book. I loved both the FMC and the MMC. Both were complex characters with touch decisions to make.
The tension and passion between these two was soooo good.
I also loved getting the added depth to Taylor’s character that was missing in the first book of this series.
Juan is just a good fucking guy. Accepting another man’s baby and raising her as your own is so incredible.
Ready for book 3!

Yo this was baaaad! I can’t fathom the same author wrote this?! I HATED these characters, both separately and together. I hated the constant idiotic miscommunication of their actual gods damned feelings and intentions, I hated the complete lack pf chemistry between these two! All the spicy scenes felt clinical and perfunctory and a waste of space.
The whole doctor situation was so fucking uncomfortable, I have no words. NO ONE is THAT sheltered. Fml I just want to erase those pages from my memory.
I will give this 2.5 stars simply for the fact that I was intrigued enough by the overarching plot that I didn’t DNF this.
