Initially intriguing but ultimately dissatisfying. Hoyle substitutes an unnamed outer space biochemist for the biblical creator to fill in the gaps in our current scientific knowledge. He starts out plausibly enough, talking about the interstellar transportability of the building blocks of life but then devolves to explaining every gap (as of 1980) in the animal fossil record as targeted and timed mail drops of DNA from outer space. And this guy is a scientist? Give me a break.
