I really loved the characters and the eery past of Vaccaro School. It made me want to know more and I couldnt put the book down. When I got to the end though I had to face palm. I think this story had sooo much potential but the plot twist just didnt do it for me. It moved the story in a completely different direction that I didnt really care for at all.

Oof. This was baaaaad. An interesting kind of bad that somehow retained my attention throughout, but bad nonetheless.

Mavi arrives at a finishing school on ice and with a feel of foreboding. She is immediately swept into a mystery as well as certain rules in which she has to comply. As she begins her time at the school she finds that there is something sinister and every time she turns more questions that need to be answered.

This was an intriguing story that goes back and forth in time between Mavi and Angel. Angel is hard to explain because you really need to follow the story to put it all together. Complex story that had several twists. I thought the writing was easy to visualize. Unique story.

All of the reviews I saw of this book were very polarized, but I didn't have the same intense reaction to the twist. I didn't see it coming, but it didn't suddenly wreck or reveal anything for me either. Overall, the book took me a while to get through, but I didn't dislike it. I think it is one I will continue to think about, particularly with the way Angel made me question my assumptions about the character (even though Mavi was my favorite).

Nope. Don’t like that.

DNF pg 35. Too slow and a bit awkwardly written. Such an interesting idea though!
