The premise of the murder of an annoying little girl caught my attention right away. This is one of Christie’s later works, and I could feel it in the tone, even if the writing style aligns with her other books.
The mystery developed well, and I was hooked as the story unfolded. I enjoyed most of the book more than the resolution; I actually felt a little disappointed with one of the final reveals, which felt too convenient to me.
Overall, I liked the book and would recommend it to fans of Christie and her style. However, if you’ve never read her before, I wouldn’t suggest this as your first book, I don’t think it accurately reflects her earlier novels.
Not one of my favorites, but it was still a very enjoyable read for me

Zero stars, DNF. Will never read this or pick it up again. Made it to page150. Sadly first Agatha book, hope to find a better one in the future.

It's not the actual Halloween party, it's the movie tie-in. Maybe I'll read it after I read the real Halloween party
