i think this is my fourth or fifth agatha christie book and boy let me tell you they were not wrong to crown her the “queen of mystery.” the plot raced along without being confusing and the cast of characters was distinct and delightful. finding out who the killer is is always an exciting moment and it didn’t disappoint in this book. however, the reveal of miranda’s father was quite insane to me. it did make sense but it also seemed peppered-in last minute for shock value. agatha, i will be back for more of you!

I like a lot of Agatha Christie’s books. They always have a matter of fact tone to them. The characters in this book seemed to talk around whatever topic they were discussing which got tiring at times. I half figured out who the murderer was but was caught off guard by the rest of it.
