I liked the overall premise of the book, but it dragged until the last 75ish pages.

That was a good murder mystery.
I don’t know how they got the haunting of Venice movie out of this though…. There were like barely any similarities so if that’s what you’re worried about don’t be.

The mystery was a tragic and morbid murder and it had you wanting to know why they committed and murder and what type of person would even do such a thing and have the audacity to sit there and fake grief.

It’s always fun to see Hercule Poirot do his detective thing and worm info out of people. Like clue but more sad.

I listened to the audiobook and it was fun to listen to and easy to follow along and wasn’t that long.

This was actually my first Hercules Poirot mystery and as a long time Agatha Christie reader it did not disappoint. I'm a sucker for a seasonally themed mystery and Hallowe'en Party fit perfectly in my build up to October 31st festivities. The mystery was well constructed, the characters were interesting, and I loved the way the story featured some of the classic parlor games played around Halloween with the kids.

This one felt a little longer in its explanations? Usually I fly through all of the interviews that Hercule Poirot does, but for some reason this one was a little harder to get into and felt a little rushed at the end.

Even so...It's Agatha Christie and just what the doctor ordered.
