This was a great book, though I found Grisham to be a bit verbose at times, making the book longer than perhaps necessary.
I actually didn't finish this book. It was so dull. I feel bad; 1st, because I love John Grisham as an author and 2nd, just because I hate not finishing a book.
John Grisham always weaves a masterful story and this time it was no different. He faces racism, bigotry, prejudice and so many other sensitive issues head on. The characters were we'll, defined as was Ford County.
My only wish is that it hadn't taken so long for this novel to be written. Excellent story.

Jake Brigance returns with another GREAT courtroom story!
This was a re-read for my book discussion group. I just LOVED IT! It was 5 stars the first time I read it and it was just as good as a re-read! I had forgotten so much of the story (except the end) so it was great reading it and trying to figure out how they were going to arrive at the ending!

4.5 stars (if Goodreads ever gives me the option...); great story.
Could have cut some of the superfluous scenes (equalling about 50 pages) but really good. A worthy "conclusion" to A Time to Kill. I had an idea for why Seth left his money to Lettie and I was partially right but he still managed to surprise me.
Not his best, and not his worst...it is ok but not very satisying ending (possibly reflective of real life and the court system of today. )
what an amazing read! (or listen, since I heard the book on CD during my daily commute) Jake, Harry Rex and Lucian are back with an amazing story of a handwritten will and an angry man who cuts his kids out of the will.
Great book - hated for it to end.

What can I say? I’m a sucker for a complicated, although predictable, story. And I like seeing the underdog win.
