I was really looking forward to this one after loving book three (still my favorite in the series). Overall, I enjoyed it, though it didn’t completely pull me in—I felt like something was missing. The insta-lust wasn’t for me (I’m definitely more of a slow-burn girly), BUT I did love the playful banter between Haden and Cassie. I also thought the mental health portrayal was handled really well. Cassie’s perspective of putting up a strong front while feeling overwhelmed inside was so real.

All in all, I’m grateful to have had the chance to read this book early, and I’ll be eagerly awaiting the final book in the Silver Pines series.

The fourth installment of the Silver Pines series introduces Cassie, Ivy’s little sister and rising country music star who quickly gets under the skin of lead ranch hand Haden. The two have a heated night before Cassie bolts back to her touring life before returning after tragedy occurs at a concert.

I really enjoyed how flawed both Cassie and Haden were but still were so open to being honest with each other. They had great communication skills despite their somewhat unconventional childhoods including absentee parents and addiction.

Overall this was a sweet story about two damaged people who find each other and love while healing themselves. I will be so sad when this series is over but I’m so excited for the next book!

Thank you NetGalley and Ballantine and Dell for this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

We are once again back at Silver Pines Ranch for Cassie and Haden’s story.

I absolutely love the world Paisley has created with this series. It make a want to saddle up and move to my own ranch.

Cassie and Haden are just perfect for each other. He’s so kind and patient, and big that mouth on him! Cassie keeps him on his toes with that sass of hers.

This book is filled with all the things you love in a small town ranch book. And the spice? It’s incendiary!

This book exceeded every single expectation I had. I have read all of Paisley Hope's books but this one stood out to me the most. The relationship between Cassie and Haden was crafted in such a beautiful and meaningful way. Even with their brief history, they were there to lean on each other when it mattered. They may be my favorite couple of the series (a close second to Ivy and Wade). Another thing that stood out about this book was the way it sucked me in from page one and kept me engaged all the way through. I devoured this book in a few hours because the pacing was spectacular. There wasn't a dull moment in this book. I also loved all of the references to Kentucky and country music. I am a Kentucky girl myself so I had to have an internal freak out anytime I recognized a location.

If you want a book full of growth, love, spice, and healing then this book is for you!! Thank you so much to Ballantine books and Netgalley for a free eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Here's to hoping I can be on the team for the next one!

౨ৎ┊initial thoughts.
okay, this is THE one. it is by far the best book that paisley hope has written so far in this series! i could not put this book down at all— literally read it in one sitting (let’s pretend it isn’t almost 6am here 🤭).

౨ৎ┊cassie spencer.
turns out i love me some popstar FMCs, and ohmygod did cassie not disappoint me. at the start of the book, this girl had me crying for her. then i began rooting for her, in her recovery and in her pursuing her dreams. now, cassie is a people pleaser so it did get a tad annoying when she went back on the road but my god did it make all the more satisfying when she finally chased her dreams. that little performance at the end too? ATE IT UP!!!! i don’t typically care for wedding & kids scenes in epilogues but my god did i LOVE IT for this one 🥲

౨ৎ┊haden westbrook.
this man did not truly understand the impact he had on cassie and it’s why i love him. he was himself, and their relationship blossomed organically and it changed her world!!! HE 😭 WAITED 😭 FOR 😭 HER 😭 when she went back on the road— like damn are you after my own heart?! his backstory broke my heart, but i loved how he got everything he wanted because this man DESERVED it! now, i didn’t like/care much for his father and usually it stays that way even if they end up fixing their relationship— i’m either apathetic or annoyed— but this time i was so damn happy FOR haden, that he finally got the father he deserved. forgot cassie, the affect this man had on me should be studied.

Thank you, NetGalley and Random House UK, for this ARC — which was given in exchange for an honest review!

Freeing the Wild is another great book from Paisley Hope. All of her books are so consistently good. In this book we have Haden and Cassie, who hit it off pretty quickly and fall in love fairly fast. Sometimes a love story that takes place over a short period of time can be hard to connect to, but this one hit just right. Haden and Cassie were both so there for the other, and mindful of each other’s issues and dreams. Some of the emotional scenes in this book hit very well and had me feeling a bit misty, which is usually harder to achieve from me. This book took a second for me to be fully sucked in, but once I was in, I quickly ate this book right up. Can’t wait to return to Silver Pines again soon!
