After previously reading Meeting Mr Anderson and getting glimpses of Rachael and Mr X. I couldn't wait to read Discovering Mr X.

18 month before meeting Tanner first stops Rachel in a coffee shop.
While waiting for his coffee. Tanner (Mr X) hears Rachel speaking about her business of selling her used underwear on her website for money. Mr X is taken away by Rachel who reminds him of Snow White so starts to call her Snow. After Tanner leaves his laptop bag in the coffee shop, Rachel helps him get it back before he boards his flight. Tanner wants to give Rachel some money for saving him from losing a big deal. Rachel doesn't want money from Tanner so both go their seperate ways and Tanner his able to get an important business deal done. Tanner wants to find a way to repay Rachel so he starts to buy from her website. He soon gets jealous that other men cound me doing the same so he offers to pay extra for the privilege of being her only customer.

18months after meeting in the coffee shop. They meet again.

Tanner never expected to see Rachel again so his shocked to see her at an auction. Tanner and Rachel start spending time together and Rachel eventually lets him into her heart.

When they first met in a coffee shop Tanner heard Rachel say "Difficult roads lead to beautiful destination" A saying Tanner had only ever heard his Mom and Nan, So how does it link them together.

What will happen When Rachel makes a discovery about the true identy of Mr X.

Thank you Elle for another beautifully written book. Look forward to reading more books in the Men Series.

This book was my first post-Sarah-J-Maas foray into books with a touch (or more) of smut. I actually found this to be a compelling romance story with well-developed characters. In a contrast to what seems to often be the case in romance novels, Rachel was neither longing for love nor recently jilted, and Tanner was fairly tender and genuine, not cock-sure that he was going to win the girl. I felt like a genuine friendship and then romance developed between the two, such that when the Big Scary Betrayal was revealed to Rachel, I actually hated to see them fall apart. I also enjoyed that it was told from both Rachel and Tanner's points of view, and that time was spent developing the plot line that ties Rachel and her late mother to Tanner's family. I have since read a few more books in this series, and Tanner is the guy I like the best by far.

One thing that did drive me absolutely nuts was that a woman as savvy and level-headed as Rachel would would go to view another house with the guy who bought the first one out from under her, and would then buy it WITH NO INSPECTION within a half-hour of seeing it. Total suspension of disbelief required here. In real life, she would have either been murdered or swindled by the guy who took her to see the house.

If you read Meeting Mr Anderson, you have probably been dying to find out about the mysterious Mr X who was exclusively buying Rachel’ panties.  The beginning of the story takes us to when Mr X (Tanner) and Rachel meet. Tanner overhears her plan to sell her panties, he ends up so distracted by her that he forgets his laptop. When she brings it back to him, he tries to repay her but she refuses and that is when he comes up with his plan. Mr X starts paying double to be the only one she sells her panties to.

Having grown up in foster care, Rachel is wildly independent and completely determined in her goals: which her main one is to buy a house. She wasn’t looking for love or a relationship, and she doesn’t need a man to help her.

Rachel and Tanner meet up again by chance( she doesn’t recall their first meeting) and begin spending time together. Tanner loves helping Rachel even though he has to fight in order for her to let him. The chemistry between Rachel and Tanner is burning through the pages of the book. The sex scenes are some of the hottest ever written. Rachel tries to keep things casual but she soon finds herself in a meet-the-mom, spend-every night-together relationship with Tanner. Tanner is absolutely perfect for her. He breaks down her walls but also knows when to give her space and when to fight her to give her help.  This quote from Tanner basically sums up how he is as a boyfriend “Now ride my cock like a good girl, and I’ll run you a bath after.” He is a dirty talker with a heart of gold and a “smug wanker” while Rachel is fierce and loyal but also a “snarky bitch”. When the truth comes out about Tanner being Mr X, can Rachel forgive him for keeping it a secret? What will Tanner do to get her to forgive him? The ending, especially the letter, had me in tears and cursing out Elle Nicoll but was overjoyed with their HEA. I loved how the story came together and how there were pieces of information dropped throughout the story that all came together in the end. Beautiful writing that made me not want to put the book down.

"These last three months have been hell, Rach. You do not know how much I’ve missed you… you and your snarkiness"
