I won this on Goodreads and I'm so glad I read it for my Christmas read. This book had a great message of starting over, being strong, asking / accepting help, and well...Christmas. The Santa Suit is short and sweet with a nice loving story wrapped up in a bow.
It maybe was a bit too short and some of the characters came off a bit forced. And Ivy, well, I got annoyed with how quickly she could turn on Ezra. I get that she was raw, but damn.
Anyways, I definitely recommend this book for a nice holiday story and a hot cup of cocoa...with bourbon. Also, be aware, this will make you want to buy an old farmhouse in the mountains of North Carolina. I may or may not be looking at listings.

This was a heartwarming story chronicling the starting over of a divorcee as she moves into a quaint old farmhouse in the mountains of NC and gets to know the charming characters that compose the town where Christmas seems to live. Highly recommend!

Cute, but very average. I just found the writing to be almost “middle-grade”. Nice to break up my thrillers though.

A Hallmark movie in a book! This book is a super quick and fun read. You can’t help but feel joy and hope while reading it. My only complaint is that it felt a little rushed and there wasn’t a lot of character set up, but still a good book to end the year with and hit my goal!

OMG this was so cute! it was very touching and heart wrenching! I enjoyed it so much. I recommend this book to anyone! it was so family oriented and military life, and it also goes through some life issues that everyone seems to use! Also, it shows you need to accept everyone how they are and not lie and try to be someone else! In love with this book! This was a short, cute, & cozy Hallmark-esque holiday novel about a recently divorced woman moving from a big city to a small town. The story was predictable and even felt a little rushed as it jumped from scene to scene. I did really enjoy the twist / connection at the end and truly didn’t see it coming, so that gave it the extra half star.

My first book by Mary Kay Andrews and I have to say, I will be reading more of her books. The Santa Suit was a heart warming, quick read. I have to admit, some parts were a bit eerie when it came to the vintage items in the house and “feelings/smells” of the Santa suits. Overall, this book was moving and described Christmas magic in the most wonderful way.
