There's a whole lot of self-deprecation inside these pages, but what else would you expect from a novel titled "The Fuck-Up". I honestly can't remember much of the plot, with the exception of the overwhelming feeling of depression and pity. Not my favorite read.

I read this more than a few years ago and liked it. After rereading it, I found it more sad. I understand it more now which is why I found it more sad, especially as your reading and realize that the narrator has really no one but himself to care about him.
And the only other person who did really care about him died and I think that’s where he really started to spiral

Reread from 2004 to 06(?) Pretty entertaining overall. Very dark and depressing towards the end. Then it goes in an unexpected direction, moves quickly, and ends suddenly.

An annoyingly tedious read that thankfully righted itself by the end of the book.

This book was interesting to read -- some things I really liked and some things I didn't, but I am very glad I read it because it brings up a lot of questions about modern life and whether we make our own fortunes or have our fortunes decided for us. It was a bit heavy-handed with its philosophising -- the wandering hero didn't as successful cause contemplation as Yossarian in the Eternal City, but it was decent enough.
