Henkes can be really hit or miss for me, but this one I loved. The illustrations perfectly matched with the text. This would be a lovely book for storytime.

Totally love this books -- highly adaptable for snow or not, nice pacing, great illustrations. Can use for Toddler.

The illustrations elevate this to 4 stars. Great way to introduce spring to younger readers and compare/contrast it to other seasons.

Love the illustrations! A great spring time read, would compliment kinder lessons on the concept. Quick enough for a storytime!

Kevin Henkes, will you ever let me down? The answer is NO. A fabulous, long-awaited third collaboration from KH and Laura Dronzek that filled my heart with joy (and hope for spring!).

I really wish they would have left out the pussy willow plant, because I don't feel comfortable reading that in front of children at storytime, but I just paperclipped the pages together and skipped over. LOL

This book is okay, not up to my standards for Kevin Henkes, though. Talks about all the changes that happen when spring comes. Cute pictures. Nothing super special, but I'd use it for little kids, 2+

Pretty cute description of what happens before/in spring. Definitely seems like an earlier Kevin Henkes book than Kitten's First Full Moon, which I will love until the day I die.

This is a sweet book regaling the onset of spring. These colorful illustrations capture the joy of the season and the text. My favorite part comes near the end with these lines:

There will be buds
and bees
and boots
and bubbles.
There will be worms
and wings
and wind
and wheels.
