Disney definitely gave us an easy childhood with all its sickly sweet stories! I'll always love the films, but I must admit... The Grimm brothers have much more alluring themes. I love these tales, probably more than the Disney adaptations!

The author's interpretation of the story is super cute and witty. But while the illustrations are nice, it's a bit of a comedown after reading Kinuko Craft's version.

After reading some depressing stuff back to back I had to pick up something blissful. And when you want to read something with a sure shot happy ending, nothing even comes close to your favorite childhood fairytales. I wanted to read 'Cinderella' to wash away the gloom that had been settling on me. Thanks to Kindle I could buy and read it right away. Such a delight it was to read this stunning illustrated edition. I believe one is never too old for fairytales. They never fail to cheer you up :)

In Perrault’s Cinderella, the classic story is told with a slight twist on the Grimm Brothers’ ending. There are no eyes plucked out or heels chopped off, only harsh actions forgiven in this tale. The art in this book is very aesthetically pleasing as all of the characters shown in this book are shown in 1920s clothing even though this book was written in the 1980s. I think this book is suitable for everyone because it shows that if your heart is good and your actions are well, you will be rewarded.

We did a whole unit on Cinderella in my English class this year and I can confidently state that this is not my favorite version of the story. It is interesting and there is a lot to be gained by comparing several different versions but this one I just didn't like much.

it was exactly the Cinderella story I wanted, Not that bloody real version of the fairy tales (I've read the real version too), but it seemed like Perrault actually wrote it from the Disney version. & you know how much I love to see my favourite medias on papers! I love it! so cute!
