My favorite so far of the Narnia stories

One of my lesser read chronicles of Narnia book as I’ve never been a huge fan of the story. I find it goes to much into depth about this new kingdom and does not feature Narnia enough.

Shasta is a nice protagonist to follow and you want to see him survive and thrive after his tough upbringing but, like many character, there isn’t much to him that gives him an interesting character.

As with many Narnia books I find there is too much description of events rather than experiencing of events which makes for a little bit of boring storytelling.

Another great instalment in The Chronicles of Narnia. This one features the Pevensie siblings as adults in their first time in Narnia although they’re not the main focus of the story.

This is still my favorite of the Narnia books. Loved it

i remember loving this as a child, so the nostalgia factor is really strong. the story at its core is powerful, and the imagery is so different to narnia yet so magical; the scene of shasta at the tombs, looking out at the desert has stayed with me since i first read it. however, now as an adult, the xenophobia is unavoidable. this book doesnt have any impact on the narnian storyline, so honestly, i would skip this one if youre only interested in the pevensie storyline. i could write a deeper review of why this book is the weakest in the series. maybe one day

If you like the magic and mystery of the lion, the witch and the wardrobe then by all means SKIP this book and move along to the next. The biggest pro of this book is that in reading to by five year old every night he immediately fell asleep because this book is so boring. So much walking in a desert, not enough magic or Aslan. The talking horses make most chapter bearable, but we could have skipped this book.

I enjoyed the story of this and remembered the horse Bree brinny hinny hooey ha

very slow and boring, and seems a little removed from the rest of the books - i.e. storytelling, involvement in the world of aslan, etc.
