First read this in the pandemic. Here I am four years later reading aloud the words of Miss Lispector understanding her in a deeper way both because of experience and due to learning the language this was initially written in. Something about a woman reminding me that I am not guilty will always free me.

My second Clarice Lispector experience ! I think it’s hard to top The Woman Who Killed The Fish for me - so fun and playful. That book felt a little more grounded in space and time but Agua Viva was an interesting ride through all of the emotions and thoughts Lispector was having while writing a letter to a lover. My favorite part were the pages where she was listing flowers and the attributes she associates with each. I like the way that Lispector writes and I’m excited to explore more of her work.
