"I don't know what I'm writing about..." Neither do I, to be honest.
This book gives off the premise that it's a philosophy-based read about life and death, and all that comes with it. The over-usage of metaphors in every single sentence takes away from the true meaning of what she's trying to say. The flow honestly feels like brain barf - she's writing whatever comes to her mind at the time, whether or not it makes sense. Most of the time, it ends up being the latter. The book started off with beautiful, almost poetic writing, and then I felt like I was descending into the brain of a madwoman. She's essentially saying the same things in each sentence on repeat: I exist in the present, I am alive, I'm going to die, and wow, the world is big. That's it. I skipped from page ~40ish to the next few pages and somehow it was still the exact same thing, just with different words.
Really didn't enjoy this one.

“I find no answer: I am. This is all that comes to me from life. But what am I? The answer is just: what am I. Though I sometimes scream I no longer want to be I! But I stick to myself and inextricably there forms a tessiture of life.”
i can’t even describe the experience reading this??? other than the fact that lispector quite literally explains the deepest feelings so eloquently and transcendentally that just fill you up! just fucking phenomenal. as an artist this resonated DEEPLY and i’m appreciative.

Oh so here is where all the forgotten dreams I've forgotten to write down have gone to die and live on.
