Hemingway said he would willingly cut three fingers off his throwing hand rather than write a book like this one. I think he was being generous.

it's quite funny to me that the US Air Force commissioned John Steinbeck, a staunch socialist, to write wartime propaganda. love steinbeck and this was a pretty enjoyable, breezy read.

About what I expected from a bit of recruiting propaganda. It's one of the last Steinbeck works I hadn't read and if I weren't a bit compulsive about reading all of the works of my favorite authors I wouldn't have bothered--nevertheless, it took me a very long time to get around to it in spite of its brevity. Lots of material exhorting the joys and benefits of working as a team. Go team.

Προπαγάνδα του Β'ΠΠ για εσωτερική αμερικανική κατανάλωση τύπου "στείλτε τα παιδιά σας στον πόλεμο θα είναι τέλεια!". Μέτριο.
