Re-read August 2017: 3.5 Stars. Though not as good as the first one for me, still a super good fantasy story featuring funny, relatable characters, wacky and exciting adventures, and some surprisingly deep insight into family. These books are never dull or boring, but I have to say I knocked off half a star due to some of the connection lacking for me in this one compared to the last when I re-read The Lightning Thief. Still, I had a good time and it is still a great series to read young or old. On to the next!

Great book! It had a captivating and satisfying plot. A great cliffhanger at the end. Definitely a middle grade book, which, as an adult, is my favorite genre!

I'm just a guy who is engaging with this series for the first time as an adult and I realize that's not the intended audience. But I am thoroughly enjoying the journey. The ending of this was a solid twist and the narrative is very good. Looking forward to the rest of the series and as a film/tv buff, I'm looking forward to season 2 of the show.
