This is one of my favorite books I’ve ever read. I hate and love that I will compare all future enemy to lover romances with this one. Highly addictive read! I love the banter between Lucy & Josh, and how they ended up where they did. Make sure to read their epilogue at the end of 99% Mine

I don’t even know where to begin. Yes, I realize this is Chick Lit so I shouldn’t have high expectations but UGH. Besides it constantly being pointed out that she’s “soooo tiny” and “hE’s So BiG”, Josh comes across as a possessive jerk and Lucy extremely immature. The correlating of a man’s height and their boyfriend material level also rubbed me the wrong way. So because her previous BFs couldn’t lift her up, he’s suddenly not worthy? Maybe I’m overthinking the whole thing but this book just didn’t work for me.

Being very generous with the 3 stars. Instagram made me read this book when I found out Lucy Hale would be in the movie. Great choice! However, this book had all of my pet peeves that I hate reading about.

1) clueless girl who can’t read the signals that the H is in love with her and instead continues to convince herself he hates her. Sigh

2) when the h gets violently ill and the H has to take care of her (I just don’t like reading about characters throwing up repeatedly and how they don’t shower during their time sick)

3) h spends more time objectifying how gorgeous and In-Shape the H is and while he’s being so romantic she’s just over there drooling.

All in all, I had to read the book before I watched the movie.

I mostly enjoyed this. It is a very slow burn. Lots of banter, some parts of which work better than others.
