Just fantastic. I would be thrilled if my daughters grow up to be as smart and resourceful as Zoe (yes, even as smart-mouthed) - Scalzi has done teenage girls proud here. It's a great sci-fi tale which rattles along beautifully and I didn't want it to end, even though I knew from the previous book what the outcome was.

I’ve really been enjoying this series, but the audiobook for this book is guilty of my biggest audiobook pet peeve. When it comes to fantasy and sci fi series (because of all the made up races and terminology) narrators have to be consistent with pronunciation. This book introduced a new narrator who completely changed the way a lot of words were pronounced and it drove me crazy.

The weakest in the series, but would make a fine standalone YA novel.
