Zoe's Tale is one of my favorite books in the Old Man's War series. Scalzi writes women well and his depiction of teenage life on a colony planet is engaging and entertaining. While the previous book tells the story from her parents' view, I always enjoy Zoe's perspective more. And Tavia Gilbert is an excellent narrator!

I have yet to open a book John Scalzi has written and not get entirely engrossed. How did the rating for this book drift below 4 stars??!! I haven't finished it yet, but it's as satisfying as seeing the bonus alternate ending or outtakes from your favorite movie (if you liked _The Last Colony_, which I DID). He's really really good at taking on the voice of a teenaged girl. Like totally.
